BREAKING: 2.39 minutes long War 2 trailer passed by the CBFC; all set to be unveiled next week

Yash Raj Films (YRF) is setting 2024 ablaze with back-to-back entertainment! The studio’s latest romantic drama, Saiyaara, has stormed the box office with a phenomenal opening, leaving trade analysts stunned. But YRF isn’t stopping there—next week, Netflix will premiere its gripping crime thriller Mandala Murders, starring Vaani Kapoor, followed by the year’s most anticipated action spectacle, War 2, releasing on August 14.

War 2 Trailer Gets CBFC Green Signal!

In a major update, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has officially approved War 2’s high-octane trailer with a U/A 16+ rating. The adrenaline-pumping promo, running for 2 minutes and 39 seconds, is set to drop next week, sending fans into a frenzy.

Missed Opportunity? War 2 Teaser Attached to Saiyaara

While Saiyaara’s screenings feature War 2’s teaser, trade experts suggest YRF missed a golden chance by not attaching the full trailer. Given Saiyaara’s blockbuster trajectory, the theatrical trailer could have electrified audiences on the big screen—a strategy YRF has successfully used in the past. Nevertheless, anticipation for War 2 remains sky-high.

Hrithik Roshan vs. Jr NTR – The Ultimate Showdown!

War 2 promises a fiery clash between Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, with Kiara Advani stealing hearts in a bold bikini avatar. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, this marks his first YRF collaboration and expands the studio’s Spy Universe.

More Spy Universe Excitement: Alpha Coming This Christmas!

Fans of YRF’s spy thrillers have another treat—Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, is set to hit theaters on Christmas 2024, making this a landmark year for the franchise.

The star, who plays Jimmy Olsen in James Gunn's new film, joined stars David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan and Nicholas Hoult at the L.A. premiere on Monday.

At the star-studded Los Angeles premiere of Superman, Skyler Gisondo—who plays Jimmy Olsen in the highly anticipated DC reboot—shared a hilarious behind-the-scenes story. The actor admitted he initially thought he was auditioning for the Man of Steel himself, only to later discover he was actually in the running for Clark Kent’s best friend.

Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Gisondo joked about his early audition mix-up, saying, “Looking back, David Corenswet was clearly the perfect choice. I’ll let him have this win—he really needed it!” He added with a laugh, “I was totally ready to bulk up for the role, but after seeing David’s progress, I thought, ‘Nah, I don’t want to steal his thunder.’ So I took it easy and let him shine.”

Gisondo also reflected on his initial reaction to the idea of playing Superman, admitting, “When I first sent in my tape, I thought, ‘James Gunn really thinks outside the box, but I wouldn’t have cast me either!’ David embodies Superman perfectly—within seconds of meeting him, you just know he’s the right guy.”

Directed by James Gunn, Superman introduces a fresh take on the iconic hero, with Corenswet leading an all-star cast including Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. The film promises a unique blend of epic superhero action and deep character exploration.

At the premiere, Gunn explained his vision for the movie, saying, “I wanted to make Superman feel real—to show him in this vast, comic-book world full of superhumans, giant robots, and Kaiju, while still making him relatable. We dive into his relationships, his beliefs, and even his flaws, making this the most human Superman story yet.”

With its mix of humor, heart, and blockbuster spectacle, Superman is set to redefine the DC Universe when it hits theaters. Fans won’t want to miss this thrilling new chapter in the superhero saga!
