The actor admitted he initially thought he was auditioning for the Man of Steel himself, only to later discover he was actually in the running for Clark Kent’s best friend.

Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Gisondo joked about his early audition mix-up, saying, “Looking back, David Corenswet was clearly the perfect choice.
